    What is SSC JE?

    SSC JE is one of the most popular engineering recruitment examinations in India for diploma and engineering graduates. CPWD, BRO, MES, and CWC are some of the departments for which candidates are recruited through this exam. Selection is on the basis of Paper 1 and Paper 2 examinations. However, final selection will be on the basis of marks obtained in Paper 2 only.

    The Staff Selection Commission has officially announced the SSC JE Notification for the 2025 cycle on 30th June 2025, with a total number of vacancies of 1731. The SSC JE 2026 Notification has not yet released. The Staff Selection Commission has not yet announced the official notification date for the upcoming recruitment cycle.

    SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2026

    Before you start preparing, make sure you meet the eligibility requirements. The good news is, that SSC JE is one of the few central government engineering exams where diploma holders are equally eligible as degree holders.

    Educational Qualification

    How to Apply for SSC JE Recruitment 2026?

    The candidates who want to apply for the SSC JE Recruitment should ensure to fill the online application before the last date. You follow the right steps carefully that you don’t make any mistakes.

    Part I: Online Registration on the SSC Portal

    1. Visit the official SSC website and click on the “Register Now” link on the homepage.
    2. Fill in basic details like name, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, Aadhaar number and educational qualification.
    3. Fill out the registration form and create a password.
    4. After successful registration, a Registration ID and password will be created and sent to your registered mobile number and email ID.

    Part II: Online SSC JE Application Form

    SSC JE Salary 2026

    SSC JE Salary is provided in Pay Level 6 of the 7th Pay Commission with the with a basic pay of Rs. 35,400 per month. Candidates will get allowances on top of their basic salary, like DA, HRA, and TA. The SSC Junior Engineer salary in hand is usually Rs. 44,000 to Rs. 55,000 per month, depending upon the place of posting and department.
